VB Systems Developer

Position Summary

This position requires a professional, who is a highly experienced Visual Basic programmer, to develop complex GUI applications.

The candidate’s responsibilities will include designing and implementing applications utilizing Visual Basic 6.0, running in a Windows 2000 environment.

 

Required Job Qualifications/Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of the full array of VB 6.0 programming techniques used to design, create and implement forms.
• Working knowledge and experience with VB.net preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of data manipulation through ODBC databases.
• Extensive experience in testing and debugging programs.
• The ability to produce clear, concise and comprehensive application documentation.

ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:

• Understanding of network protocols, and PC hardware and software configurations;
• Must be an independent, proactive worker;
• Must adhere to established standards and methodologies;
• Must demonstrate precise coding and documenting techniques;
• Must be comfortable working within a team oriented environment while accepting responsibility for leadership within area of expertise; andStrong interpersonal skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years related work experience in a client/server environment.
• 3+ years of Visual Basic experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs application design, development and implementation;
• Assists in application testing;
• Prepares technical documentation.
